Grants & Trusts Officer

Part-Time, Remote – 1 Day Per Week

Initial 6 month contract that could be extended and possible increase of hours

Are you a talented writer with a passion for animals and securing vital funding? Do you thrive on crafting compelling grant applications and building relationships that drive meaningful change? If so, we want you on our team!

We are a dedicated animal rehoming charity, committed to giving animals a second chance at life. To help us continue our life-changing work, we’re looking for a Grants & Trusts Officer to identify funding opportunities, write compelling applications, and nurture relationships with key funders.

Please Note: Applicants must have prior experience in grants and trusts to be considered for this role

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Identifying funding opportunities – researching and targeting trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies that align with our mission.
  • Crafting high-quality applications – writing persuasive grant proposals and ensuring submissions meet funders’ requirements.
  • Managing applications & reporting – keeping track of deadlines and providing updates on funded projects.
  • Building strong relationships – engaging with funders and showing them the impact of their support.
  • Maintaining our funding database – keeping accurate records of applications and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with our fundraising team – working together to maximise funding opportunities.
  • Ensuring financial accountability – making sure funds are used as per grant agreements.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in trusts and grants fundraising.
  • Excellent written communication skills – you can tell a story that inspires action!
  • Strong research and organisational skills – detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Passion for animal welfare – you believe in our mission and want to be part of it.
  • Ability to work independently – you’ll have full flexibility to manage your own workload.

Are You Ready to Transform Fundraising for Animals in Need?

Do you have a proven track record of growing fundraising income? Are you full of energy, fresh ideas, and a drive to do things differently? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you!

We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic, and ambitious fundraising leader to help us increase income by a third over the next five years—powering our vital work in rescuing and rehoming animals.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop & implement a bold income generation strategy aligned with our mission.
  • Identify & secure new fundraising opportunities, from corporate sponsorships to digital campaigns.
  • Grow & lead our individual giving, legacy giving, and major donor programs.
  • Build & nurture long-term relationships with supporters, donors, and key stakeholders.
  • Inspire & manage the Income Generation team, fostering innovation and high performance.
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity, representing us at key events.
  • Monitor & report fundraising performance to the CEO and Board.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations.

We are open to the public to have a look around on Thursdays, Saturday and Sundays from 11:00 to 15:00
